On graduating from our 4-year postgraduate training programme you will have an Oxford PhD (DPhil) in engineering, have gained first-hand experience of working on clinical problems and alongside engineers working in the healthcare industry, and will be able to make an informed decision as to whether you want to pursue a career in academic or industrial biomedical research based on first-hand experiences.
There are 10 RCUK Digital Economy Programme funded post-graduate awards available from October 2010, for GB and EU students. GB candidates who are awarded a RCUK funded studentship will receive full funding (University and College fees and a stipend); EU candidates will receive University and College fees only. There is one Clarendon Scholarship available per year for international students (please note that this Clarendon Scholarship has now been awarded for the 2010-2011 academic year). Please use programme code 002465, DPhil in Healthcare Innovation, in your application and consider the associated colleges (Linacre, Magdalen, St Catherine's, St Cross, Trinity, St Hilda's, Jesus, Keble, St Anne's, Lady Margaret Hall, Wadham, Wolfson and Kellogg Colleges) for your college choices.
Before submitting a full application for a studentship on the programme, all candidates should send a copy of their most recent CV via-email to: cdt-enquiries@eng.ox.ac.uk. If advised to submit an application, all applicants are required to follow the University guidelines on the admissions process. Please note: All applicants are expected to have achieved a 2:1 or First Class Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related subject.
Application deadline: 18 June 2010. Overseas candidates should note that funding opportunities from the University of Oxford, including the Clarendon Scholarship, are now closed for 2010.
